DataGet Thermocouple Interface
   How to collect temperatures accurately

The DataGet thermocouple module combines a +/-0.2C accurate temperature reference with a 24 bit Analog Digital Converter (ADC) to give you the most precise Palm based thermocouple reader.

All thermocouple readers must adjust for the local temperature. Inexpensive systems use a cheap transistor to “compensate” for the local temperature.

The DataGet cartridge uses a precision thermistor, hooked to our 24 bit ADC to adjust for local temperatures.

Thermocouples are not linear, and the electronics must compensate for this. Simple readers use a look up table to adjust for errors. These work well for some temperatures but are not so accurate at other temperatures.

DataGet software uses proprietary Chebyshev Polynomials to provide +/- 0.05 degree accuracy over the entire j and k thermocouple range. It also saves space on the handheld, and is fast to calculate.
