Interface to RS232 Gauges and Instruments

Connect RS232 devices to your Visor or Palm. Most handhelds have limited serial ports, and their connector shapes are non-standard. Visor®, for instance, only supports 3 of the 9 pins. The DataGet RS232 adapters have a standard DB9 connector to fit your existing cables. All 9 pins work like a PC.  The DataGet RS232 adapter allows you to communicate with your gauge or device in ways even a PC cannot.

Attaches to Scales, Voltmeters, Calipers, DRO's, pH Meters, digital read-out boxes, air gauges, humidity and temperature sensors, GPS systems, HVAC, spectrographs and more.

Works with Fowler, Tesa, Sylvac, Ohaus, Wilson Rockwell, uMaxum and many others.  The DataGet software comes with predefined setups for these gauges and more.

Intelligent interface - a 16-bit microcontroller manages signals to and from the gauge, and decodes gauge output for easier processing on the host computer.

AutoWake™ technology monitors the gauge even when the Palm is turned off.  The DataGet adapter turns the Palm on when you send a measurement from the gauge.

Request data to be sent from the Palm if your gauge or device does not have a data button.  Request readings by toggling DTR, BREAK, or sending a request string.

Low power consumption. Does not require batteries - the Palm supplies the power for the adapter.

Works with standard 9-pin DB9 Serial cables and connectors.
Support for all 9 standard pins:
8 signals (TXD, RXD, CTS, RTS, DTR, DSR, RI, CD), 
4 data lengths (5,6,7,8), 3 stop lengths (1, 1 1/2, 2), 
5 parity options (none, odd, even, one, zero) 

ESD protection against static shock to +/-10kV
Inputs tolerant to +/-25V for older RS232 devices.
DataGet software works to 57.6kbps

 

Support for the Meazura Palm.    -- Now shipping --

The DataGet Meazura RS232 adapter cable attaches to the bottom of your Meazura Palm, and is easy to remove for syncing your data back to the PC.  This is the painless way to get full RS232 from your Meazura Palm.

Use part #D022000 when ordering. Package includes software, adapter and connector to the Meazura.

For the Janam, use part #D032000 when ordering. Package includes software, adapter and connector to the Janam.

Support for  Palm Universal Connector: 
m125, m130, m500, m505, m515 and i705, Tungsten T, T2, T3, C and W, Zire71

The DataGet interface is housed in a sled which clips to the bottom and back of your Palm.  

The 9-pin Serial connector is at the top of the sled, and need not be removed to HotSync.

Sorry, this does not work with the Palm m100 and m105, or Zires other than the 71.

DataGet cartridge for the Visor:

Plug directly into your Visor. The DataGet software lets you convert the ASCII data into numerical measurements.

The unique, low power design comes from a custom chip designed specifically for the handheld market. With a robust design, and cable coming out of the top of the unit, the DataGet Visor cartridge is the ideal choice for wearing on a tool belt. No need to remove the cartridge to sync your data.

The DataGet Palm III RS232 adapter cable attaches to the bottom of your Palm, and is easy to remove for syncing your data back to the PC.  Used primarily by Fowler
