DataGet USB Data Collection Software for SPC
Adapter/Gauge Connections
- Connect to multiple adapters/gauges. No multiplexer
required.
- Assign each adapter/gauge a unique ID. The assigned ID is persistent to the adapter - connecting the adapter to
another PC/Laptop will show the same assigned ID.
- Map your inspection variables to a specific
adapter/gauge. Change variable/gauge mapping at anytime - even at run
time. Allow input from any gauge, or restrict input to a
specific gauge.
- Mapping works regardless of number of gauges found
or the order in which they were found.
- Move your adapters between PC/Laptops and use singly
or in multiples.

Parts and Variables
- Define thousands of parts if you need them. Customize each part for your data collection needs.
Switch easily between parts.
- Up to 1000 Variables per part, each independently configurable.
(note: if you export to an Excel spreadsheet, you can have
about 240 variables per part.)
- Tag data with identifiers. They are great for tracking lot numbers or Employee IDs.
- Subgroups organize your measurements into logical blocks. The screen shows the subgroup you are on, and your current sample within the group.
- VariCycle™ technology lets you preset when to switch variables for hands-free operation while collecting data.
- Collect thousands of data readings. Parts
definitions and data readings are held in an Access
database, so your limits are largely a matter of available
disk space and your system performance. The Access
database can be replaced with a higher performance database
if needed. Access is NOT required to be
installed on your system in order to use the DataGet USB
software.

Data Readings
- Run chart shows trends, target value, and spec limits for
your SPC data.
- SmartAxis™ scale converts between units on the same chart while keeping the most important data in front of you.
- Measurements can be manually entered or edited.
- Set the Alarm to warn you if a point is out of spec.
- Attach Notes to any measurement.
- A Date/Time stamp is automatically recorded for each measurement.
- Sample Counter shows you how many measurements you have made.
If subgrouping is turned on, see the current subgroup and
row within subgroup.
- Record thousands of measurements per variable.
Actual number is dependant on your system size, performance,
and the performance of the underlying MS Access database.
- Use your Gauge button to record a measurement, use a
footswitch, or trigger the reading from the PC/Laptop
on-screen button or from the keyboard.

 |
Identifiers
- Define up to 15 identifiers for each part.
- Five types of identifiers let you enter data quickly.
- Numeric
- Text
- Date
- Time
- Checkbox
- Drop-list of options
- Save thousands of screens worth of identifiers per part.
- Auto fill-in allows you to default selected identifiers,
or to pull forward your last entries to speed data entry.
|
 |
Statistics
- Calculate Statistics like mean, standard deviation, estimated sigma, sample size, min, and max for each variable.
- CpK and PpK values are shown whenever you have subgrouping turned on. Cp and Pp are also provided.
|
 |
Compare Trends
- Select up to four variables to compare.
- Look for convergence, divergence, or even a lack of any correlation.
|
 |
File Formats
- Select Microsoft Access to save data in a relational format. Programs, like MiniTab, can quickly query the data for later use.
Save in either the original DataGet format, or as an archive
of the current database. Customize your templates and
the changes will be replicated seamlessly.
- note: you do not need MS Access on the system in
order to save the data in Access format, but you do need
it in order to view or manipulated the data.
- Select Microsoft Excel to save each part in a separate sheet. Variables and identifiers each get their own column.
- note: you DO need MS Excel on your system in
order to export in Excel format.
- Select Comma-delimited text (.csv) files to save data in
an easy to format style, or for easy input into other
programs (such as spreadsheets).
- This is a nearly universal format for data
export\import.

 |
Forms Designer
- Create, edit and manage your configurations (Forms).
the DataGet USB configuration utility makes it easy to
define your:
- Parts
- Identifiers
- Variables.
- Simple, point-and-click interface for most items.
- Export as XML.
- For a library of configurations, clients, etc.
- For editing with your favorite XML editor - or even
Notepad.
- Import XML files - including DataGet Palm configuration
